Pretty Buns

Ladies, grab your kirby grips and hair bobbles, buns are back for spring/summer! Christopher Kane jumped on board the bun train at the spring/summer shows sending models down the runway with low slung and messy buns.
They are great for an every day look as they are very simple to do... remember the messier the better!

Hair by Anthony Turner & the TIGI Creative team

Inspiration: Innocent, naive & childlike.

"There’s so much detail in the clothes so we wanted the hair to compliment this and flow with the collection – the hair had to be up. The hair makes the girls look very naive and pure – quite child like.

First the hair was prepped with Catwalk by TIGI Your Highness Root boost and rough dried, then the hair was sectioned into a low side parting, combed with fingers rather than a brush so it looked more home made. The hair was then just pulled back into a low pony tail at the nape of the nape of the neck and secured into a chignon with pins.

The look is really simple and not too considered – we wanted the girls to look like they had done it themselves. The hair was spritzed with Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Work It Hairspray to hold in place then just before they were going out on the runway I pulled the front section forward so it looked like a webby veil across the forehead and set with hairspray. It’s really feminine but a bit peculiar, it’s quite Virginia Woolf. It’s meant to have imperfections – quite fantasy like, the parting is the only structure in the look."
